Kootenay Kids maintains a volunteer board of directors responsible for overseeing the proper administration and financial management of the society, as well as developing policy and long term planning. The aim of the board is that it be comprised of people from throughout the community, with a diverse set of skills and qualifications. The board is always interested in adding new members, and is particularly interested in people with a financial, administrative, marketing and fundraising or legal background.
